![]() It's not really worth the full price but it's often on sale so for <$10 it's a great value. It's the only other Dirt game (other than DR2.0) that has sim-level physics, and it doesn't have many of the bad things that DR2.0 has (like annoying DLC structures, DRM-locked career mode, etc). Spring is not used by DiRT Rally 2.0, so the value doesnt actually matter. Set the maximum steering angle in the Thrustmaster Control Panel and calibrate the wheel in-game. It's old though so not worth picking up unless it's cheap.Īlso worth checking out is the original Dirt Rally. DiRT Rally 2.0 has a Soft Lock feature, so it will automatically set the proper steering angle for each car in the game. You're restricted to basically just driving modern WRC cars, but other then that it's basically the clear winner in terms of sim rally games IMO.ĭirt 4's driving physics aren't "sim" level, but if you pick it up on sale and go into it expecting a fun arcade-y rally driving experience, it will deliver. It has beautiful and awesome stages, great driving physics (particularly the tarmac stands out compared to other rally games), and a deep and engaging career mode. If you're on PC and don't care about VR, get WRC 8. However it has a much larger selection of cars (WRC 8 is just modern WRC cars and a couple others), and the graphics (lighting/shading/etc) and sounds are top notch. WRC 8 on the other hand made me feel confident enough that I gave it a try. The one feel for all surfaces that I felt in Dirt Rally 2.0 often left me in a heap and made me reluctant to turn terminal damage on. Because I remember this being a handful in Dirt 2.0. I have chosen two Spanish stages for the tarmac section and the Audi Quattro Group B rally car. The supposedly weakest surface in Dirt Rally 2.0 and one of the strongest in WRC 8 and onwards. DR2.0's stages are worse, driving physics are worse (particularly on tarmac), and career mode is worse. Mostly because that it’s here the ever so slightly better feel that WRC 8 gives makes all the difference. However, overall Dirt Rally 2.0 feels less natural. ![]() If you're on console or are interested in VR, get Dirt Rally 2.0.
